GAME NOTES: The Chiefs
opened the 2008-09 season with a 44-40 win over Myrtle Beach in
the opening round of the Buddy Rogers Classic at Myrtle Beach High
School. BJ Bellamy led NMB with 9 points, while Bashawn Lewis added
8 points. Other scorers for the Chiefs were AJ Hall (6), Temarrick
Hemmingway (5), Dorian Leland (3), Greg Wilson (5), Timmy Bellamy
(2), and Chris Walker (6). Myrtle Beach, which returns nine players
from its 2008 State Championship squad, played without six of them
who are still participating on the Seahawk football squad.

GAME NOTES: Following
a slow start in the first quarter, the Chiefs poured it on in the
final three periods to walk away with a 67-38 victory over Creek
Bridge to finish play in the Buddy Rogers Classic with a recors
of 2-2. Timmy Bellamy led three NMB players in double figures with
13 points. Temarrick Hemmingway added 12 points, while AJ Hall chipped
in with 11. Other Chief scorers were Greg Wilson (8), Davis Trussell
(8), Chris Walker (7), Josh Poston (4), Jeff Craven (2) and BJ Bellamy
(2).
